Baby surprise jacket

Bus knitting!
The knitting on the bus goes ROUND and ROUND... haha sorry.
Ahem. So I KIP on the bus about 3 or 4 days per week. I have been knitting my entrelac hat, which is kind of an annoying knit because each square goes so fast... I need to find some better bus knitting projects.
I have met several people that will ask about my knitting, say that they want to learn, or tell me their wife/grandmother/friend does that.... which is kind of cool. I just don't really know what to say to that.
I was in a bookstore the other day and saw a woman standing by the coffee counter knitting something - so I made a beeline to talk to her, and discovered that she was knitting a gauntlet and in bamboo. It was VERY soft! She is on Ravelry but hasn't responded to my PM yet...

We got tagged!
Our friend Donna Sims tagged us. Since we had not yet been tagged here, I thought it would be a good place to start.
The requirement here is we are supposed to tell 5 things about ourselves thus:

1. I LOVE Tyler Perry. There are 3 houses on our street for sale and I wish Madea would move into one.
2. I recently learned that 6 hours of Yoga a week is TOO MUCH.
3. I feel like a poser. I haven't knit anything bigger than a doll hat in months.
4. I finally broke down (in a fit of desperation) and actually used a tomato pin cushion with a strawberry attached. (Did you ever notice that's on the Dritz logo?)
5. I really can't stand the way that people say "You killed that (song)" after someone sings ... really well. WTF? If you KILLED IT .... that should mean it SUCKED, right?

I knit something, really!
I knit a hat for a troll... but I didn't get a good pic... so that will be up later. After that, I knit a smaller version of the same idea... but it didn't work out at ALL. Here are some temporary model pics until the real knitting comes back... LOL

I knit a sweater!!!
.......sort of!!!
Okay, it's for a 4" rabbit.....but hey! Bunnies need clothes too!And even though it's a tiny sweater, I figure you have to grab victory where you can!
So...may I introduce, wearing my newest late-winter-where-the-heck-is-spring- knit, Colin Butterscotch Hainesworth. He's hoping to get part-time work this year as a stand-in for the Easter Bunny. It doesn't pay that well, but it's all the jelly beans you can eat.

How do you eat PEEPS?
Mmmm! It's that time of year when Peeps are in vogue. Not the knock-off Halloween peeps...or even a few of those Christmas peeps they try to pass off as edible. No I am talking serious Easter (can you say yellow!) peeps!
And for the true connoisseir....you can't just rip them open and eat them. Please! They must be cut opened and
allowed to GO STALE! That's good eats!
How do you eat peeps?
My peeps...
I prefer my peeps staled!
First, you get the peeps (and don't even talk about those OTHER colors...)
And I cut a slice into the plastic, and split it open. If I'm really ambitious, I leave it next to me on my desk and leave it like that for an hour, and then "close it" for at least 24 hours.
Then, check the peeps... they can't have too much loose sugar on the bottom or you have a MESS! Turn them out and let 'em shake what they got! (LOL!)

Yes, I have a button bin!
Why is it that the Yarn Harlot has the ability to make you do things that take you away from productive work... like grab your button bin, take pics of it, and post it on your blog?
I inherited BOTH of my grandmother's button bins, I combined them into one though when in a fit of spring cleaning I decided I didn't want a jar and a basket... so they are all in one basket:
(Yes, I see the impostor flower button AND the acorns...)
As a child, I loved to run my hands through them and let them run through my fingers. (Ok, I still do.)
However, there is a dirty little secret about button bins/boxes/tins that needs to be addressed. That's <stage whisper>Segregation</stage whisper>.
You know you do it. You won't mix your buttons in with the vintage buttons because let's face it.. the plastic in the vintage buttons is far more uppity than the plastic in YOUR button collection and the "mature" buttons would just trash talk the new ones and give them a complex. So you leave yours on cards and either stuff them in a large ziploc or completely separate them all together:
When I was gathering buttons to take these pics, I decided that enough was ENOUGH! I found a cedar box that I bought because it was on sale (What? It's CEDAR! I had to have it...) and now my buttons have their own little world to live in, free from their cards and plastic bags, completely oblivious to the nasty things being said about them in basketville...

Speaking of triflin....
1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY......)
and while sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer,
lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your
right hand. Your foot will change direction. I told you so!!!
And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid
it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if
you've not already done so.
And now, for the knitting portion of this post:

Taken Down a Notch
Time for some bustin"....I noticed that while Sunshine posted a BIG OL' picture of her ACRYLIC (yes, I said acrylic!)
stash...she neglected to say what she was working on. But let me digress a bit.....Sunshine and I are probably twins separated at birth (those of you who know us can figure this out in your head), and we have attention spans of about 10 rows past the cast on! Now before you think that we are indeed TRIFLIN', let me just add that last year we both did finish an ENTRELAC bag. (mmmm Noro!)
We can't go shopping together....we find too many exciting projects that we JUST HAVE to do. Up until about 2 months ago all said projects usually ALWAYS included really cool yarns, no eyelash, no bamboo (that's another story) and definitely NO acrylic. Let's face it....we were yarn snobs. We would spend way too much time fondling a skein of sock yarn and trying to figure out what glorious "thing" you could make with ONE skein. (Hey! We were snobs, but we're regular folk!)
So, if you mentioned RED HEART to one of us, we'd likely smile to your face, then get on the telephone to each other and talk about you like a dog!
But then came Babette......
Babette is a lovely, lovely afghan that was featured in Interweave Press a few years ago. In the example they use Koigu(mmm Koigu!).
Ugh! Over 17 skeins of it. Err!
Well, noting our track record with actually finishing things (let me hear you say Kauni Cardigan! Amen!) and the fact that we have children that would like to attend college some day.......you know where I'm going with this.
So now, both our stashes have LOTS of acrylic....we've been taken down a notch or two.
We ain't proud!!!
